Field notes / 02
One track.
One clear record.
This fictional example is a data sketch you can adapt for your own project.

The track has a local ID. The release has its own ID, so several tracks can refer to the same release without using its title as a key. The artist credit remains a readable string in this deliberately small model.
The stored duration is 214,000 milliseconds. A display layer could show that as 3:34. Keeping display formatting out of the stored value makes sorting and arithmetic easier.
Grow only when the collection asks for it
If you need to browse by individual performer, add separate artist records and links. If you only need a track list, the simple credit field may be enough. Preserve any original metadata before running an import.
All names above are illustrative. This is documentation, with no hosted API endpoint or account required.
